NOTICC OF DE�IINATION
Wf�2FAS, the Planning CoQnnission of the City of Arroyo Grande has
considered an application by The Doctor's Office for a Sign Permit at 1057 Grand
Avenue in the C-2, General Cormiercial District; and
Wf�2EAS, the Planning Co�nnission has found that this project is consistent
with the General Plan and the E.hvironmental Doctunents associated therewith; and
WHEE2I�S, the Planning Commission has reviewed this project in ccxnpliance
with the California �hvironmental Quality Act (CflQA) and has determined that a
Negative Declaration can be adopted, and instructs the Secretary to file a
Notice of Detertnination; and
Fi��tF�.S, the Planning Co�rnussion finds, after due study, deliberation and
public hearing, the following circwnstances exist:

The proposed signs are consistent with the intent and purpose of Section
9-4.2407 of the Zoning Ordinance as it relates to Planned Sign Progr�.
Signs are visually coanpatible with the buildings they identify by
utilizing materials, colors or design motif included in the building.
3. Proposed signs ccxnple�it other existing or proposed signs on the site by
using coimion design elements, such as materials, letter style, colors,
i1lLUnination, sign type or shape.
4. Signs are compatible with surrounding land uses and will not obscure
adjacent conforming signs.
NOW. Tf�RE, BE IT RESOLVID that the Planning Corrmission of the City
of Arroyo Grande herebg approved said Sign Permit, subject to appropriate
standard conditions of the City of Arroyo Grande, sand the following special
conditions:

The sign and base shall be constructed as outlined on Exhibit "B", ar,d
revised by condition nLUnber 3, and as approved by the Planning Carrrdssion
on January 16, 1990.
Prior to construction of the sign and base, the applicant shall obtain a
building permit from the Building Department.
3. The Planning Department shall review and approve a landscaping plan
submitted �by the applicant for the area around the sign and base. The
applicant shall install landscaping prior to issuance of building permit.
4. The applicant shall adhere to any appropriate conditions as required by
other local, state and federal agencies.
