�F�S, the Planning Cormussion of the City of Arroyo Grande has
considered Variance Application No. 89-142, filed by Sfiell Oil Ccxn�any, for a
Variance to: 1) exceed the c�rulative square footage allowed for signs in the
C-3 zone; 2) exceed the n�nber of signs pern�itted in the C-3 zone; 3) retain a
50 foot high non-conforming, freestanding sign; and 4) retain existing non-
conforming sign in excess of the maximwn square footage allowed for a single
sign face; and
Wf�, the Planning Co�rnission has held a public hearing on this
application in accordance with the City Code; and
��RFAS, the project has been found to have no significant enviro�r�rnental
impact under the provisions of the California Etzvirorunental Quality Act (C�,);
and a negative declaration can be adopted; and
WI�tFT►S, the P1aiuLing Co�tnission hereby directs the Secretary to file a
Notice of Determination; and

of Arroyo Grande hereby approves said Variance subject to the standard
conditions of the City and those listed below:

The applicant shall ascertain and cariply with all State, County and
City requirements as are applicable to this project.
Develogr�ent shall occur in substantial conforn�ance with the
plans presented to the Planning Corrmission at the meeting of
November 21, 1989 and marked "Exhibit A".

4. The applicant shall rertiove the roof top signs on the canopy and on
the main builcling prior to issuance of permits for construction of
the new signs.
5. Any sign(s) within the roadway right of way shall have appropriate
permits and/or approval fran Caltrans. Prior to issuance of any
building or sign permits. Contact Steve Senet, Permit Ehgineer, at
549-3152.
6. All signs not shown on the sign plan approved by the Planning
Ca�nission and marked "Exhibit A" shall be removed prior to issuance
of permits for construction of new signs. This candition does not
include signs to be removed and replaced during construction such
as the auto care signs.
