Wi-IEkL?�S, the HousiricJ Element is one oF nine mandatory elements of the
G:�r.eral Flan mandated by Government Code Section 65302(c); and

��dFI7�F'WA�, the City of Arroyo GY'clI1C1�' did last adopt. an amendE:d �iousing Element
in I�,iyi_is� ?975; and
6^�.iLRGAS, the City is .required by Article 10.6 (commencing with Section
65�8U) cf tlie Government Code to bring its Housing Element into conformance �vith
th� provisi.or.s of same; and
[4'r1L�.��15, the legislature recognizes "That each locality is best capable of
1��ermi_:ii.ng �vhat ef�orts are required by it to contribute to the attainment of
the State hou�ing goal, provided such a determination is compatible with th� State
hous:ing r,oal and reyional housing needs." (Sec. 65581(d); and
6�THEREAS, the City has undertaken to prepare a revised Housing Element
in conrormance with the previsions of Government Code Sec. 65580 (et.seq_.} and
in cor..sider�tion of the community's economic, environmental, social and fiscal
factors and cocnmunity goals as set forth in the General Plan; and
F]HEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed and considered such revised
Housing .Element at two study sessions held Jar�uary 3]_, 1934 and April 26, ].984,
and did solicit ;�ublic com.ment. upon such proposed revised FIousing Element at a
duly noticed Public Hearing May 1, 1984.
NO[9, THEIL�:i ORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City
o= Arroyo Grande does hereby recommend to the City Council ac:option of the
r�,v_ised �Ioi,sing Element as amended, which is in accordance wi.th the provisions
af t'�rticle 10.6, Section 65.580 (et. seq.)
