RESOLUTION NO. 79-675
RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
ARROYO GRANDE ADOPTING PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE
- PLANNED DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT OF ZONING ORDINANCE NO.
24 C. S., AND RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL FOR
ITS ACTION AND ADOPTION.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Arroyo Grande has held the
required public hearing at their regular meeting of June 5, 1979 on the proposed
amendments to Zoning Ordinance No. 24 C. S. as provided by Chapter 4 Zoning,
Article 32 of the Municipal Code to consider amendments to said Municipal Code,
Article 10, Section 9-4.1001, Section 9-4.1013, Section 9-4.1015, Section 9-4.1017
and 9-4.1020, Planned Development District, as follows:
Sec. 9-4.1001. Purpose ("P-D").
(Page 377, second sentence). Rewrite as follows:
"The purpose of such district is to grant or require diversifi-
cation in the density and location of structures and other site
elements which would be appropriately compatible, while insur-
ing adequate standards relating to the public health, safety,
welfare, comfort, and convenience."
Page 377, third sentence). Strike out the requirement "ten
(10) acres", and substitute "one (1) acre".
Sec. 9-4.1013. Development Plans ("P-D").
(Page 380, Para. (a). Delete second sentence, which reads:
"The development plan shall be in general conformity with, or
in excess of, the minimum requirements set forth in other
sections of this chapter with relation to land uses corres-
ponding with land uses proposed".
Sec. 9-4.1015. Maximum Allowable Height ("P-D").
(�Page 382, second sentence). Rewrite as follows:
"The maximum building or structural height of all structures
shall be as shown on the development plans for the "P-D"
District, or recommended by the Planning Commission":'
Sec. 9-4.1017. Maximum Building Site Coverage by Buildings or Structures ("P-D")�
(Page 382, Para. (a). Rewrite as follows:
"The maximum coverage of a building site by all structures
including accessory buildings permitted in the "P-D" District,
but not including uncovered patios or swimming pools, shall
not exceed fifty (500) percent for the "P-D" District":
Sec. 9-4.1020. Minimum Off-Street Parking Required ("P-D").
(Page 384). Rewrite section as follows:
"Off-street parking requirements in the "P-D" District shall be
as follows:
(a) All senior citizens' residential projects, retirement
planned communities, or government sponsored low income
housing as approved by the Planning Commission.
(b) All residential uses; two (2) garage spaces per dwelling
unit.
(c) All other uses as set forth by Article 25".
NOW, THEREFORE, the Planning Commission of the City of Arroyo Grande does
hereby resolve as follows:
Section 1. The Planning Commission of the City of Arroyo Grande does
hereby find and determine that the public interest, convenience and necessity
require that proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance be adopted.

Section 2. 2'he Planning Commission of the City of Arroyo Grande does
hereby adopt the proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance as noted above.
Section 3. The Planning Commission Chairman is hereby authorized and
directed to certify this approval of the proposed amendments and foYward to
the City Council for consideration.
On motion by Commissioner Vandeveer, seconded by Commissioner Cole, and
by the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Commissioners Cole, Fischer, Gorsline and Vandeveer
NOES: Commissioner Moots
ABSENT: Chairman Harris and Commissioner Simmons
the foregoing Resolution was adopted this 5th day of June 1979.
