RESO�U�BON OF �HE P�ANNONG COMMBSSOON OF �HE CITY OF
ARROYO GRANDE GRAN�ING A VARGANCE, CASE N0. 72-46.
The Planning Commission finds that the Variance appl°eed for by Akio
Hayashi at 516 Grand Avenue meets the requerements of Section 7.3 of the
Arroyo Grande Zoneng Ordinance Noo 157 as amended, to allow for an addition
to a single family resedence on the following described praperty:
pn the City of Arroyo Grande, Gounty of San Luis Obispo,
State of Calofornia, Lots 5 and 6 of Block 4, Western
Addotion
(a) in that it does not constetute a grant of special privilege inconsistent
with limitations upon other properties in the vdcinity and same zoning
in which this property is located, and
(b) that because there are special circumstances applicable to the property
(size-shape-topography-location-surroundings) the strict application of
the Zoning Ordinance does deprdve applicant's property of privileges
enjoyed by other properties in the vicinity and in the same zoning
classification, and grants said Variance for the following reasons:
1. Applicant has lived in this location for 18 years prior to
existing zoning.
2. Addition to residence is necessary to accommodate family.
On motion of Commissioner Porter, seconded by Commissioner Jones, and on
the following roll call vote; to wit;
AYES: Commissioners Bowles, Berryhill, Jones, Nunes, Porter,
St. Denis and Chairman Schultz
