A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE PL-ANNING
COMMISSION RECOMMENDING AN AMENDMENT TO THE MUNICEPAL
CODE OF �N� GITY OF ARROYO GRANDE AS PROVfDED BY
GHAPTER � ART16L€ 21, OF SAID CODE,
WHEREAS� the Planning Comm(ssion of the City of Arroyo Grande, CaT�i'fornoa
has held � p�blic hearing on the appl(cation of Mr. Ken Cralg, as agent for the
owners� to amend the Munlcipal Code of the City of Arroyo Grande as provided by
Chapter 4, Article 21 of said code to rezone all that property described as
follows from R-A-B-3 to R-1 Districto
That portion of Lot 101 of James T. Stratton's Survey of �arts of the Ranchos
Corral de Piedra, Pismo and Bolsa de Chemisal, in the City of Arroyo Grande,
County of San Luis Obispo� State of California, as shown on m�p filed in Book
A� Page 65 of Maps in the office of the County Recorder of said County,
described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the Easterly line of Valley Road, as shown on the map
of Tract No: 186, recorded in Book 6, Page 52 of Maps in the office of said
County Recorder that.is distant along said Easterly line North 0 09' East,
1411.05 feet from the southerly line of said Lot 101; thence along the
Southerly boundary of the land described in the Deed to B. A. Colburn and
wife� recorded October 30, 1957 in Book 914 page 125 of Official Records,
as follows;� South 89 51' East 685.80 feet and South 41 46' 15" East
374.00 feet to the most Easterly corner of said land of Colburn; thence
parallel with the Southeasterly line of said Lot 101 South 55 ° 31` 30" West,
11g.32 feet; thence South 34 ° 28' 30" East 387.82 feet to a line that is
parallel with and distant 30 feet Northwesterly from the Southeasterly line
of said Lot 101; thence along said parallel line South 55 ° 31' 30" West
274,31 feet to the Southwesterly terminus of the course recited as "South
55 ° 31' 30" West, 274�31 feet" in the deed to the San Luis Obispo County
Flood Control and Water Conservation District, recorded December 3�, 1959 �
in Book 1040 page 16� of Official Records; thence Westerly along the Northerly
boundary of the land described in said last mentioned deed to the Northeasterly
line of County Road No, 134 as described in the deed to the County of San Luis
Obispo, recorded in Book 42, page 448 of Deeds; thence along said County Road
No 134 North 47 West, 498.94 feet, more or less to the Easterly line
of Valley Road as shown on said map of Tract No. 186; thence along said Valley
Road, North 0 09' East 350,60 feet, more or less to the point of beginning.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission feels that the public interest and general
welfare does require such an amendment, and is in keeping with the Land Use Plan,
and �
WHEREAS, the Commission minutes including list of persons who testi'fied at
the Public Hearing, summary of fact and findings and copies of any maps pertinent
to the proposal are attached and hereby declared to be part of said Resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that said Planning Commission hereby recommends
approval of the amendment as applied for, for the following reason:
1. Zone change to R-1 District would be compatible to and in keeping with
surrounding developments and zoning. �
On motion of Commissioner Nunes, seconded by Commission�er Jories;� and by the
following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Comm_issioners Berryhill, Bowles, Jories, Nunes, Porter, St, Denis
and Chairman Schultz
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
the forego-ing Resolution was adopted this 19th y of October, 1g71.
