PC R 68-91 G, -1�2�2 RESOLUTION N0, 68-91 G A RESOLU710N OF THE PLANNVNG COMMISSiON OF' THE CiTY OF ARROYO GRANDE RE-ADOPTING A BEAUTIFICATION PLAN FOR THE CV7Y WHEREAS, The Planning Commission has reconsider'ed the Beauti'fication Plan for the Gity.of Arroyo Grande and finds it is still consistent with the General Plan .for the City.of Arroyo Grande,�and WHEREAS, The Planning Commission desires to continue :the beau�ification and improvement of open-space and other public urban land to facilitate their increase,d use and enjoyment, and WHf REAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 65501 et seq, the City Planning Commission gave r.equired notice and did hold a pub hearir�g o� March l9 1968 for the purpose of re-considering the adoption of the Beautificafion Plan of the General Plan report and maps, and at which publi:c hearing the Beaut"ifi:cation Plan and report and maps were displayed, explained and reported upon; and WHEREAS, Title IX of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1965 amends Ti"tle UII of the Housing Act of 1.961 and provides for the making of grants by . the Department of Housing and Urban Development to States and local public bodies to assist them in the beautification and improvement of open-space and other p�ublic urban land where such assistance is needed for carrying out a loc�l program which is'important to the comprehensivety planned development of the 1oc31ity; NOW, THEREf ORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE �CE7Y OF ARROYO GRANDE DOES HEREBY RESOLUE AS FOLLOWS: l. Re-adopt the amended Beautification Plan for the City of Arroyo Grande and 2. Request concurrence by the'adoption of this plan as an Element of the General Plan .for the City of Arroyo Grande by the City Cr��anci'1 after doing those things necessary, and 3. That the City Council be�requested to approve an application to the Department of Housing and Urban Development for matching funds under Title IX of the.Housing and Urban Development Act of 1965 as amended by Title VII. of the Housing Act of 1961, if it is determined the City is eligible for such funds.
