A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
ARROYU GRANDE RECOMMENDING THAT THE CITY COUNCIL AMEND
THE ZONING MAP TO CHANGE THE ZONING OF THE SUBJECT
PROPERTY FROM RESIDENTIAL RURAL (RR) TO SINGLE FAMILY
RESIDENTIAL (SF) CONSISTENT WITH THE GENERAL PLAN
(DEVELOPMENT CODE AMENDMENT 06-004)
WHEREAS, the City Council of Arroyo Grande adopted the updated General Plan which
became effective on October 9, 2001 and requires a comprehensive review and
necessary revisions to the Development Code and zoning map for consistency in
accordance with Government Code Section 65860; and
WHEREAS, The City has a responsibility to assure adherence to the General Plan in
meeting the needs and desires of the residents and the community; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Arroyo Grande considered
Development Code Amendment 06-004 at duly noticed public hearings on December 5,
2006 and January 16, 2007 in accordance with the Development Code of the City of
Arroyo Grande and recommended approval to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the, Planning Commission has determined that the following Development
Code Amendment findings can be made in an affirmative manner:
A. The proposed amendments to the City's Zoning Map is consistent with the goals,
objectives, policies and programs of the General Plan, and are necessary and
desirable to implement the provisions of the General Plan.
B. The proposed amendments to the Zoning Map will not adversely affect the public
health, safety, and welfare or result in an illogical land use pattern.
C. The proposed amendments to the Zoning Map are consistent with the purpose
and intent of Title 16, specifically, Section 16.32.010(E) pertaining to the Single-
Family Residential (SF) district.
D. The City has conducted environmental review for adoption of an ordinance
amending the Zoning Map, and has found that it can be seen with certainty
that there is no possibility that the proposed amendment will have an effect
on the environment and therefore this project is exempt from the provisions
of CEQA, pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15282(t).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of
Arroyo Grande hereby recommends that the City Council approve Development Code
Amendment 06-004 with the above findings and as set forth in the Ordinance attached
hereto and incorporated herein by this reference.

following roll call vote, to wit:
