The Committee agreed that the metal roof was appropriate for a number of reasons including preservation of views for the surrounding properties, fire safety, water collection and that the material nicely represents the intended Contemporary California Ranch architectural style. Vice Chair Berlin made a motion, seconded by Committee Member Juette, to recommend approval of the project as submitted with the following rationale for approving the metal roof: 1. The metal roof matches the Contemporary California Ranch architectural style; 2. Installation of the metal roof will facilitate rain water capture; 3. The metal roof will aid in fire prevention; and 4. The lower slope of the metal roof will allow for view preservation of surrounding properties.
