RESOLUTION NO. 964
A RESOWTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE,
CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A
GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY,
THE 11TH DAY OF APRIL, 1972, FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN
OFFICERS OF SAID CITY AS REQUIRED BY THE PROVISIONS OF THE
LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA RELATING TO GENERAL LAW
CITIES AND FOR THE SUBMISSION TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF
SAID CITY AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO SAID CITY CERTAIN
UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "HUASNA ROAD NO, 2
ANNEXATION" AND FOR THE SUBMISSION TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS
OF SAID CITY AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO REZONING OF CERTAIN
TERRITORY ALONG THE EASTERLY PORTION OF SAID CITY FROM
R-A-B-3 TO R-l
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the laws relating to general law
cities in the State of California, a regular general municipal election shall
be held on the 11th day of April, 1972, for the election of 3 members of the
City Council of said City for the full term of four years; a City Clerk of
said City for the full term of four years; and a City Treasurer of said City
for the full term of four years; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande did on the
25th day of May, 1971, duly adopt Ordinance No, 52 C.S, providing for the
annexation to said City of certain uninhabited territory designated as
"Huasna Road No, 2 Annexation"; and
WHEREAS, the said Ordinance was duly published as required by law;
and
WHEREAS, pursuant to authority provided by statute a petition has
been filed with the legislative body of the City of Arroyo Grande signed by
more than ten percent of the number of qualified registered voters of the
City of Arroyo Grande protesting against the adoption of the said Ordinance
hereinabove referred to; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Arroyo Grande has duly
examined and from the records of registration ascertained that the petition
is signed by the requisite number of voters, and has so certified; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande has not
voted in favor of the repeal of the Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the City Coancil of the City of Arroyo Grande is there-
upon authorized and directed by statute to submit the Ordinance to the
qualified voters; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande did on
the 10th day of August, 1971, duly adopt Ordinance No, 56 C,S. providing
for the rezoning of certain property along the Easterly portion of said
City from R-A-B-3 to R-l; and
WHEREAS, the said Ordinance was duly published as required by
law; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to authority provided by statute a petition has
been filed with the legislative body of the City of Arroyo Grande signed by
more than ten percent of the number of qualified registered voters of the

NOW, THEREF()",E, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITYcrF ARROYO GRANDE,
CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That pursuant to the requirements of the laws of the
State of California relating to General Law Cities within said State, there
shall be, and there is hereby called and ordered, held in the City of Arroyo
Grande, County of San Luis Obispo, State of California, on Tuesday, the 11th
,day of April, 1972, a regular general municipal election of the qualified
electors of said City for the purpose of electing 3 members of the City
Council of said City for the full term of four years; a City Clerk of said
City for the full term of four years; aRd a City Treasurer of said City for
the full term of four years,
SECTION 2. That said City Council, pursuant to authority provided
by Statute, does hereby determine that there shall be and there is hereby
ordered submitted to the qualified electors of said City at said regular
general municipal election Ordinance No. 52 C.S. relating to annexation to
said City of certain uninhabited territory designated as "Huast14 Road No, 2
Annexation".

A cross (+) placed in the voting square after the word "YES" in the
manner hereinbefore provided shall be counted in favor of the adoption of
the question or proposition. A cross (+) placed in the voting square after
the word "NO" in the manner hereinbefore provided shall be counted against
the adoption of the question or proposition,
SECTION 4, That the ballots to be used at said election shall be,
both as to form and matter contained therein, such as may be required by
law to be used thereat,

SECTION 5, That the City Clerk of said City is hereby authorized,
instructed and directed to procure and furnish any and all official ballots,
notices, printed matter and all supplies, equipment and paraphernalia that
maY,be necessary in order to properly and lawfully conduct said election.

hold said election and make return thereof in the manner provided by law.

SECTION 7: That the compensation of the persons hereinabove named
as election officers is hereby fixed at the sum of thirty-Five Dollars for
each Inspector and Thirty Dollars for each Judge and Clerk, for said
election,
SECTION 8. That the polls for said election shall be open at
seven o'~lock A,M, of the day of said election and shall remain open
continuously from said time until seven o'clock P.M, of the same day, when
said polls shall be closed, except as provided in Section 14436 of the
Elections Code of the State of California.
SECTION 9. That in all particulars not recited in this resolution,
said election shall be held and conducted as provided by law for holding
municipal elections in said City.
SECTION 10. That notice of the time and place of holding said
election is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby authorized,
instructed and directed to give such further or additional notice of said
election in time, form and manner as required by law,
SECTION 11, That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and
adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original
Resolutions of said City, and shall make a minute of the passage and
adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of
said City in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and
adopted.
SECTION 12. That this resolution shall take effect immediately.
