Proposed DCA
Development code amendments will implement HE Programs A.1-1 and A.10-1
Table 2-1 of the Housing Element estimates up to 118 new affordable units between the two programs

Amend the development code to allow residential projects by right when at least 20% of the units are restricted for lower income households
Only applicable on reuse sites from the previous Housing Elements (4 sites)

Projects will still need to comply with Building Codes, objective zoning and engineering standards
The requirement to provide at least 20% of units as affordable is greater than what is required by inclusionary housing ordinance

Exempt from CEQA pursuant to Section 15060 and 15061 of the CEQA Guidelines because the amendment alone has no potential to create adverse impacts

Introduce the Ordinance Adding Section 16.52.270 and Amending Chapter 16.82 of the Arroyo Grande Municipal Code; and
Find the Ordinance Exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act.”
