RESOLUTION NO. 892
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION BY THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE TO
THE SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION RELATIVE
TO A PROPOSAL TO ANNEX TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande that it does
hereby request and petition the San Luis Obispo County Local Agency, Formation Commission
to approve the annexation of the territory described in the attached Exhibit "A" to be
known as "Huasna Road No.2 Annexation", to the City of Arroyo Grande.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED. that this Council declares that:
1. This proposal is made pursu.nt to the District Reorganization Act of 1965.
2. The territory proposed to be annexed is uninhabited.
3. The reasons for this proposal are that:
(a) The City. will be able to offer to the territory proposed to be annexed
all the services of a municipal corporation, such as fire protection,
water service, police protection, localized zoning controls, and others.
It is felt that these services will be more efficiently and economically
operated by one entity.
(b) The result should be that service to the territory proposed to be an-
nexed will be upgraded that the overall tax burden might be reduced,
and other rates such as fire insurance rates might be reduced. Also,
government will be more locel and unified, since jurisdiction would be
then in one body, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande.
4. The fOllowing counties, cities or districts are affected by this proposel:
(a) County of San Luis Obispo
(b) City of Arroyo Grande
(c) County of San Luis Obispo Flood Control and Water Conservetion District 3
(d) South San Luis Obispo County Sanitation District
(e) Lucia Mar Unified School District
5. The real property hereby proposed to be annexed to the City of Arroyo Grende is
more particularly described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto end hereby incorp-
orated herein as though fully set forth at this point.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council requests that the proposed
annexation be subject to such terms and conditions as are contained in Section 56740
of the Government Code of the State of California, which may be deemed epplicable by
the Local Agency Formation Commission. -,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Arroyo Grande is
hereby directed to file a certified copy of this resolution with the Executive Officer
of the Sen Luis Obispo County Local Agency Formation Commission.

EXHIBIT "A"
All that portion of Lot 8 of the Resubdivision of a part of the Ranchos Corral
de Piedra, Pismo and Bolsa de Chemisal, surveyed by R. R. Harris, November 1885,
in the County of San Luis Obispo, State of California, according to map filed
for record November 24, 1886 in the office of the County Recorder of said County,
described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the Southwesterly line of said Lot 8, which is North 53\0
West 20 feet from Post S.29 at the most Southerly oxner. of said Lot 8, said
point being the true point of beginning, and running thence North 440 East 5.26
chains parallel with the Southeasterly line of said Lot to the most Southerly
corner of the property conveyed to Edward V. Methever, et ux., by Deed recorded
March 22, 1888 in Book Z of Deeds, page 625, records of said County; thence
North 5l~0 West 21.25 chains along the Southwesterly line of the property so
conveyed to the most Westerly corner thereof; thence South 43\0 West 5.99 chains,
more or less, to the Southwesterly line of said Lot 8; thence South 53\0 East
21.27 chains to the point of beginning.
