RESOLUTION NO. 760
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION BY THE CITY OF
ARROYO GRANDE TO THE SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY LOCAL
AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION RELATIVE TO A PROPOSAL
TO ANNEX TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande
that it does hereby request and petition the San Luis Obispo County
Local Agency Formation Commission to approve the annexation of the
territory described in the attached Exhibit "A" and designated as
"Oceano Annexation" to the City of Arroyo Grande.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Council declares that:
(1) This proposal is made pursuant to the District Reorgani-
zation Act of 1965.
(2) The territory proposed to be annexed is inhabited.
(3) The reasons for this proposal are that:
(a) The City will be able to offer to the territory pro-
posed to be annexed all the services of a municipal
corporation, such as fire protection, water service,
police protection, localized zoning controls, road
repair and others. It is felt that these services
will be more efficiently and economically operated
by one entity rather than by diversified districts
of the County of San Luis Obispo and a private waer
company, all of which now serve the territory pr~
posed to be annexed.
(b) The result should be that service to the residents
of the territory proposed to be annexed will be up-
~raded and that the overall tax burden might be re-
~ced, and ~thea rat!s such as fire i~fyr~ce rates
m ght be re uce. A so, J'overnment w more

(4) The following counties, cities or districts are affected
by this proposal:
(a) County of San Luis Obispo
(b) City of Arroyo Grande
(c) County of San Luis Obispo Flood Control and Water
Conservation District l-A
(d) County of San Luis Obispo Flood Control and Water
Conservation District 3
(e) County Service Area No. 13
(f) Oceano Fire District
(g) Oceano Sanitary District
, (h) South San Luis Obispo County Sanitation District
(i) Lucia Mar Unified Sch06l District
W Oceano Lighting District
(]()- Oceano Beach Lighting District
(5) The real property hereby proposed to be annexed to the
City of Arroyo Grande is more particularly described in
Exhibit "A" attached hereto and hereby incorporated herein
as though fully set forth at this point.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council requests that the
proposed annexation be subject to such terms and conditions as are
contained in Section 56470 of the Government Code of the State of
California which may pe deemed applicable by the Local Agency Form-
ation Commission.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of
Arroyo Grande is hereby directed to file a certified copy of this
Resolution with the Executive Officer of the San Luis Obispo County
Local Agency Formation Commission.
On motion of Councilman Levine, seconded by Councilwoman
