. ORDINANCE NO. 109 C.S.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE AMENDING
CHAPTER 3 OF TITLE 4 OF THE ARROYO GRANDE MUNICIPAL
CODE BY ADDING SECTION 4-3.15 THERETO REIATING TO
PROVISIONS FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF "TRUCK ROUTES".
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Chapter 3 of Title i, of the Arroyo Grande Municipal Code is
hereby amended by adding Section 4-3.15 thereto to read as follows:
SECTION 4-3.15 l'RU.cK B"OUTE,e.
(a) When~ver any resolution of this City designates and describes any
street ~r portion thereof as a street the use of which is permitted
by any vehicle exceeding a maximum gross weight limit of three tons,
tIle City Engineer is hereby authorized to designate such street or
street" by appropriate signs "Truck ROlltes" for the movement of
vahic les exceeding a maximum gross weight limit of three tons.
(b) When any such truck route or routt!s are established and designated
by appropriate signs the operator of any vehicle exceeding a
maximum gross weight limit of three tons shall drive on such route
or routes and uone other except that nothing in this section shall
prohibit the operator of any vehicles exceeding a maxillUDl gross weight
of three tous coming from a "T1"U<,k Route" having ingress and egress
by direct route to and from restricted streets when necessary for the
purpose of making pickups or deliveries of goods, wares, and merchandise
from or to any building or str~cture located on such restricted
streets or for the purpose of delivering materials' to be used in the
actual aud bona fide repair, alter'ati,on, remodelini or construction
of any building or structure upon su.:h restricted streets for which a
Building Permi.t has previously been obtained therefor.
(c) The provisions of this section sha.ll not apply to (1) passenger busses
. under the jurisdiction of the Public Utilities Commission, or to
(2) any vehJ.de owned by a public. uti1:l.ty whU.e ttecessarily in use in
the construction, installation or repai.r of any public utility.
(d) Those streets and parts of streets established by resolution of the
City Cound.l are hereby declared to be truck routes for the movement
of vehle, les exceeding a max:lmum gross weight of three tons.
SECTION 2: Thi.s Ordlnance shall be in full force and effect thirty (30)
days after its passage, Ilnd wHhi11 fHtcen (15) days after its passage it shall
be pUblished once, together tilth the names of the Council Members voting thereon
in the Five Cities Times~Preas-Recorder,

the following roll call vote, to wi.t:
AYES: Councilmen Spierl1ng, de leon, Schlegel, Millis and Mayor Talley

ABSENT: None
