RESOLUTION NO. 529
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF Arroyo
Grande , CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT [HAT lHE
ReGULAR GeNeRAL MUNICIPAL ELETCION WAS HELD IN THE SAID CITY OF
Arroyo Grande , THE 10TH DAY OF APRIL, 1962,
AND DECLARING THE R~SUlIS TH~REOF AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS ARE
PROVIDED BY LAW/.
WHEREAS, the Regular General Municipal Election was held in the
City of Arroyo Grande , County of San Luis Obispo, State of
California on the 10th day of April, 1962, and
WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly given in the time, form and
manner provided by law. That the voting precincts were properly established,
that the election officers were appointed and that, in all respects, said
election was held and conducted in and the votes cast thereat, received
and canvassed and returns made and declared in the time, form and manner as
required by the provisions of the Elections Code of the State of California
for the holding of elections in general law cities, and
WHEREAS, on the 17th day of April, 1962, at the hour of 7:30
o'clock P.M., the City Council, duly assembled at its usual place of meeting
and has canvassed the returns of said election, and as a result of which the
City Council finds that the number of votes cast, the names of the persons
voted for, the office of each person who was voted for and other matters
required by law to be as stated hereinafter:
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande ,
Cal Hornia, does resolve as follows:
Section 1. That there were 2 voting precincts established for the
purpose of holding said election, consisting of consolidations of the
regular election precincts in the City of Arroyo Grande as established for
the holding of State and County Elections.
Section 2. That said regular general municipal election was held for
the purpose of electing the following officers of said City as required
by the laws relating to general law cities of the State of California,to-wit:
2 members of the City Council of said City for the full
term of four (4) years each.

Section 3. That the whole number of votes cast in said CitY,except
absent voters ba110ts was 594 . That the wh01e number of Absent voter
ba110ts cast in said City election was 7 , making a total of 601
votes cast in said City Election.
Section 4. The names of the perso~ voted for at said election for
member of the City Council of said City are as follows:
Marvin K. Hartwig
Baird D. McNeil
Addison B. Wood
That the number of votes given at each precinct, and the number of
votes given in the City to each of such persons above named for the
respective offices to which said persons were candidates were as follows:

The City Counci 1 does declare and determine that
Baird D. McNeil was elected a member of the City
Council of said City for the full term of four (4) years.
The City Counc i 1 does declare and determine that Addison B. Wood
was elected a member of the City Council of said City for the full term
of four (4) years.
The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the City Council of said
City a statement as a result of the said election showing:
(1) The whole number of votes cast in the City;
(2) The names of the persons voted for;
(3) The measures voted upon;
(4) For what office each person was voted for;
(5) The number of votes given at each precinct for each person, and
for and against each measure;
(6) The number of votes given in the City to each person

That the City Clerk shall immediately make and upon compliance of
the persons elected under the provisions of Section 11565 and Section
11568 of the Election Code of the State of California, sha 11 deliver to
each of such persons so elected a certificate of election signed by her
and duly authenticated; that she shall also administer to each person
elected, the oath of office prescribed in the State Constitution of the State
of California, and shall have them subscribe thereto and file the same
in her office, whereupon each and all of said persons so elected shall be
inducted into the respective office to which they have been elected.
That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of
this Resolution, shall enter the same in the Book of Original Resolutions
of said City, and sha11 make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in
the records and proceedings of the City Council of said City in the
minutes of the meeting at whi~h the sa~e is passed and adopted.
On motion of Councilman Pence , seconded by Councilman
Lee , and on the following roll call vote, to-wit:
AYES: Burt, Lee, Pence and Jacobs
NOES: None
ABSENT: Hartwig
the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 17th day of
Apr i 1, 1962.
