RESOLUTION NO. 490
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO
GRANDE STATING ITS INTENTION TO ABANDON A PORTION OF
RAMONA AVENUE AND SETTING TIME FOR A PUBLIC HEARING
WHEREAS, there presently is a street in the City of
Arroyo Grande generally known and designated as Ramona Avenue,
which street is more particularly described; and
WHEREAS, said street is actually what is commonly known and
designated as a "paper" street, having been shown on a subdivision
map, but having never been opened up and used as a City Street; and
WHEREAS, there appear to be no present or future probable use to
be made by the City of Arroyo Grande of said Street as a public
street, and therefore it appears in the best interests of all
concerned that said Street be abandoned by the City of Arroyo
Grande.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARROYO GRANDE as follows:
The City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande intends to
abandon a portion of Ramona Avenue,(said portion being specifically
described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and by reference incorporated
herein), a public street in the City of Arroyo Grande, County of San
Luis Obispo, State of CaTifornia. For the purpose of considering the
City CcDunci I' s intention, the City Counci 1 of the City of Arroyo
Grande wi 11 hold a public hearing on the 11th day of July ,
1961, at the hour of 8:00 O'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers
of the City Council in the City Hall, Arroyo Grande, California, at
which time and place interested persons may appear and be heard
concerning their views as to whether or not the City of Arroyo Grande
should abandon said portion of Ramona Avenue.
It is further ordered that the City Clerk shall cause a copy of
this Resolution to be pubTished in the Herald-Recorder, anewspaper
printed and circulated in the City of Arroyo Grande for the time re"
~uired by law. Said City Clerk shall also cause a copy of this

Resolution to be posted on the portion of said Ramona Avenue, as
hereinafter described, at Teast three (3) of said notices to be posted
on said Street, but no notice to be a greater distance than three :
hundred (300) feet from any other notice.
v The portion of said Ramona Avenue which the City Council of
the City of Arroyo Grande intends to abandon is more particuTarTy
described as that certain real property located in the City of
Arroyo Grande, County of San Luis Obispo, State of CaTifornia,
described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and by reference incorpo-
rated herein.
On motion of Councilman Pence , seconded by
Counci lman Hartwig , and on the foTTowing rolT call vote

Being the Northerly half of Ramona Avenue lying between
the Easterly property line of 18th Street and the center line 'of
19th Street as said Streets and Avenues are delineated and desig-
nated on a map of The Town of Grover recorded JUly, 1887, filed
for record in Book A at page 6, records of San Luis Obispo, County,
California and being more particularly described as follows to wit:
Beginning at the most South westerly corner of Block 53
of said Town of Grover 1 thence S 860 45' E along the Southerly
line of said Block 53 a distance of 335 feet more or less to its
intersection with the Northerly prolongation of the centerline of
19th Streetl thence S 30 15' Walong the said Northerly prolongation
of the center line of 19th Street a distance of 50.00 feet to its
intersection with the center line of Ramona Avenue 1 thence N 860
45' Walong the said center line of Ramona Avenue, a distance of
335 feet more or less to its intersection with the Southerly pro-
longation of the Westerly property line of said BloCk 531 thence
N.30 15' E along the said Southerly prolongation of the Westerly
line of Block 53 a distance of 50.00 feet to the Point of Beginning.
