R 1029 , -, , JOLUTION NO, 1029 , A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTION OF OLD CITY RECORDS PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 34090, WHEREAS, Government Code Section 34090 sets forth a procedure fer the destruction of certain unnecessary City records after ii'.1'8 :rears, ,md WHEREAS, the hereinafter described records are s1J.th'.Jrl.zed to be> d8,.troyed under the provisions of Government Code Section 34090; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: The hereinafter described records are no longer ~equired, and Thay be destroyed without making a copy thereof upon receiving the written consent of the City Attorney of the City of Arroyo Grande, Said records are described as follows: All of those records described on the attached schedule., marked Exhibit "A". Capital crimes. B. Embezzlement of public funds. C, Bribery of public officials. D. Cases involving identifiable stolen property which has not been I'8covered. CRIME REPORTS All crime reports may be destroyed after they have been on file far a period of at least five (5) years. A. It will be necessary to ascertain wh~ther there are warrants outstanding on any case files due for destrUction and, when found, these cases shall be referred to the Chief of Police for final disposition, B, Case jackets containing pictures should be retained for training programs and other similar uses. Unused pictures shall be destroyed, RAP SHEET5 It ahal1 be the practice of this Dapartment to retain only the current rap shoet (>f any individual.
