ORDINANCE NO. 24 C.S.
CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE, CALIFORNIA
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE, STATE OF
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 9, CHAPTER 4, OF THE
ARROYO GRANDE MUNICIPAL CODE, ADOPTING A ZONING PLAN,
BEING A PRECISE SECTION OF THE LAND USE PLAN, A UNIT
OF THE GENERAL PLAN, AND AN OFFICIAL PLAN OF SAID
CITY; SPECIFYING THE PURPOSES AND THE EFFECTS OF THE
ADORTION OF SAID PLAN, WHEREBY VARIOUS DISTRICTS ARE
ESTABLISHED IN SAID CITY; SPECIFYING THE USES OF LAND
AND OF BUILDINGS PERMITTED IN SAID DISTRICTS; ESTAB-
LISHING CERTAIN HEIGHT LIMITS WITHIN SAID DISTRICTS;
REQUIRING CERTAIN YARDS AND OTHER OPEN SPACES WITHIN
SA~D DISTRICTS; PRESCRIBING FOR THE ERECTION, CONSTRUC-
TION, ALTERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF BUILDINGS, STRUC-
TURES AND OTHER IMPROVEMENTS IN SAID DISTRICTS, IN-
CLUDING THE REQUIREMENT THAT CERTAIN PERMITS BE SECURED
FOR CERTAIN OF SUCH BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND IMPROVE-
MENTS, AND FORe-THE USE THEREOF AND OF THE LAND; DEFIN-
ING THE TEID6 USED HEREIN; SPECIFYING THE PROCEDURE FOR
THE AMENDMENT HEREOF; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS
OF-ORDINANCES I~CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PRESCRIBING
PE."lALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF ANY OF THE PROVISIONS

The Council of the City of Arroyo Grande do ordain:
ARTICLE 1. ADOPTION, TITLE, PURPOSE OF ZONING PLAN
Section 9--4,~101 ADOPTION OF ZONING PLAN
There is hereby adopted a Zoning Plan for the
Ci_ty of Arroyo Grande, State of California. Said Zoning
Plan being a DistrictingPlan, as provided by law.
9-4.102 SHORT TITLE
This chapter shall be known as the zoning law
of the City of Arroyo Grande.
9..,4.102 PURPOSE OF ADOPTION OF ZONING PLAN
1. The purpose of this ordinance is to promote
the growth of the City of Arroyo Grande in
an orderly manner and to promote and protect
the public health, safety, comfort and gen-
eral welfare..

ARTICL~ 36. SEVERABILITY, NAME, ENACTING
Section 9-4.3601 If any section, subsection, sentence, clause
or phrase of this ordinance is for any reason held
by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid,
such decision shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions of this ordinance. The City
~ Council hereby declares that it would have passed
this ordinance and each section, subsection, sentence,
clause and phrase hereof, irrespective of the fact
that anyone or more sections, subsections, sentences,
clauses or phrases be declared invalid.
ARTICLE 37. REPEAL OF CONFLICTING ORDINANCES

I Section 9-4.3701 Chapter 4 of the Ordinance Code of the City of
Arroyo Grande, state of California and ordinances
amendatory thereto are hereby repealed, and all other
t ordinances in conflict with this ordinance to the ex-
tent of such conflict and no further are hereby re-
I pealed.
On motion of Councilman Levine, seconded by Councilman Smith,
