ORDINANCE NO. 216
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO. 210 OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE BY
CHANG I NG THE TERMS OF OFF I CES OF THE MEMBERSH I POF
THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. Ordinance No. 210 of the City of Arroyo Grande, entitled "An
Ordinance of the City of Arrojo Grande amending Ordinance No. 193 of the City
of Arroyo Grande by changing the make-up of the membership of the City Planning
Commission "rod regulating attendance thereof," passed and adopted the 8th day
of February, 1966 is herewith amended 00 that Section 2 thereof shall read as
fo 11 ows; to'"'' it:
SECTI ON 2.. The Planning Commission is hereby re-created and re-establ ished
which said Commission shall succeed unbrokenly to the Commission previously
existing under the provisions of this Section heretofore existing, except as
modified herein, and which commission shall consist of seven (7) members as
follows:
Seven members who shall be qualified electors of the City of Arroyo Grande,
but who shall not otherwise be officials of the City of Arroyo Grande, such
members shall be appointed by vote of the City Council after nomination by the
mayor. One member of the City Council, appointed by the mayor, shall serve
ex officio on the commission without a vote thereon.
(a) Terms of Office and Vacancies.
That commencing July 1, 1966, the four (4) vacancies to be filled shall be
filled for terms of one (I) year, two (2) years, three (3) years and four (4)
yea rs. Commencing July I, 1968, the three (3) vacancies to be filled shall
be filled for terms of one (I) year, two (2) years and three (3) years. There-
after, members of the Commission shall serve for a period of four years, be-
ginning on July I, except that the terms of the member of the City Council
shall terminate upon the vacation of his membership on the City Council.

(b) Appointment for the Commission and the filling of vacancies shall be
made by vote of the City Council after nomination by the mayor. Vacanc I es
