ORDINANCE NO ~ 40
ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO~ 21. BY ADDING
A NEW SECTION THERETO, ESTABLISHING, FIXING
AND IMP~ING A MUNICIPAL LICENSE TO WHOLESALE
PEDDLERS .
The City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande do ordain
as follows:
SECTION I. Ordinance No. 21, entitled "Ordinance Establishing,
.
Fixing, and Imposing Municipal Licenses for Transacting or
Carrying on of any Business, Calling, Profession, Game, Exhibi-
tion, or Show within the City of Arroyo Grande" is hereby amended
by adding a new section to be numbered Section 60, and to read
as follows:
SECTION 60. Every person, firm, company or corporation engaged
in business or who transacts bu,siness in the City of Arroyo Grande
as a wheLasale peddler shall pay a license of $12.00 per year or
a license of $3.00 per quarter.
For the purpose of this section, the term ''Wholesale Peddler"
shall be taken to mean and be construed as every person, firm,
company, or corporation engaged in or transacting the business
of selling, peddling, or distributing at wholesale, fruits,
vegetables, braad, pies, cakes, bakery goods, candy, meats,
meat products, cigars, cigarettes, tobacco, or any other goods,
wares or merchandise, and who carries his merchandise with him, w

whether or not such merchandise is Bold, peddled or distributed
exclusively to a business alread~ paying a license to the City
of Arroyo Grande.
Any person, firm, company., or corporation paying a license to
the City of Arroyo Grande, under provisions of Section 4 of
said Ordinance No, 21 shall not be required.to pay the license
provided for in this section.
No license shall be required under provisions of this section
from any person, firm, company, or corporation engaged in business
as a wholesale peddler where no merchandise is sold, peddled, or
distributed, except agricultural, pastoral or dairy products raised
or produced by such person, firm, company or corporation in the
County of San Luis. Obispo, and Where no merchandise is purchased
for resale.

SECTION II. All ordinances, and partB of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION III. The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause this
ordinance to be published once in the Arroyo Grande Herald-
Recorder, a newspaper printed and published in the City of Arroyo
Grande, California, and of general circulation therein.
SECTION IV. This ordinance shall take effect, and be in force,
on the 31st day after the date of its final passage.
