R 3076 . ~ RESOLUTION NO. 3076 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF'ARROYO GRANDE DECLARING SURPLUS PROPERTY WHEREAS, in 1965 Arroyo Grande Fire Chief Tony Marsalek acquired a 1960 Willys Jeep Patrol, VIN #85628 as surplus from the mllitary. The veh icle was modified and used for the last 30 years as a patrol car; and WHEREAS, new regulations governing fire equipment, the weight limitations of the Jeep; and its age have resulted in the decision to remove the vehicle from fire service; and WHEREAS, because of the history and appearance of the Jeep, the Fi refighters Association has expressed a desire to acquire 1t for pub 1 1c relations and pa rades; and WHEREAS, the granting of the Associ ati on's request wlll perm 1t the preservation of a piece of the Fire Department's history whlle relieving the City of the maintenance costs. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Arroyo Grande does declare the 1960 Wlllys Jeep as surplus and that it be sold to the Vol unteer Firefighter's Association for the sum of one dollar ($1.00). On motion of Council Member Souza , seconded by Council Member Brandy , and on the following roll call vote, to wit: AYES: Council Members Souza, Brandy, Lady, Fuller and Mayor Dougall NOES: None ABSENT: None the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 13th day of June, 1995.
