WHEREAS, the City awarded a contract for preparation of a Historic Context Statement
to the consulting firm of Page & Turnbull; and
WHEREAS, Page & Turnbull has prepared a Draft Historic Context Statement; and
WHEREAS, the Historical Resources Committee of the City of Arroyo Grande made
several revisions to the Draft Historic Context Statement and recommends that the City
Council adopt the Draft Historic Context Statement, as revised; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Arroyo Grande recommends that
the City Council adopt the Draft Historic Context Statement, as revised; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande has reviewed this project in
compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the State CEQA
Guidelines, and the Arroyo Grande Rules and Procedures for Implementation of CEQA
and has determined that the project is exempt, per Section 15306 of the CEQA
Guidelines; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande has reviewed the project at a
duly noticed public hearing on February 12, 2013;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande
hereby adopts the 2013 Historic Context Statement, a copy of which is posted on the
City's website and copies of which are available for review in the City Community
Development Department.
On motion by Council Member Costello, seconded by Council Member Guthrie, and by the
following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Costello, Guthrie, Ray, Brown and Mayor Ferrara
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
