RESOLUTION NO. 3042
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARROYO GRANDE REQUESTING AUTHORIZATION
TO CLOSE A STREET FOR HARVEST FESTIVAL PARADE
WHEREAS, the Harvest Festival Parade Committee of the city of
Arroyo Grande has requested closure of a portion of Branch street
(Highway 227) and the entrance and exit ramps of U.s. Highway 101
at Grand Avenue in the City of Arroyo Grande, state of California,
for a short period of time; and
WHEREAS, the closure will be for purposes of conducting a
parade in conjunction with the 57th Annual Arroyo Grande Valley
Harvest Festival activities, with said parade to be held between
9:30 A.M. and 12:00 Noon on Saturday, September 24, 1994; and
WHEREAS, the Arroyo Grande Police Department will arrange for
signing, detouring of traffic and all traffic control during the
period of time that said street and ramps are requested for
closure.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
1. That request be made of the State of California Department
of Transportation for permission to close a portion of Branch
Street, also known as Highway 227, from U.S. 101 to stanley Avenue,
and the entrance and exits ramps of U. S. Highway 101 at Grand
Avenue on september 24, 1994, between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and
1:00 P.M.
2. That the city council authorizes closure of said street
and entrance and exit ramps upon receipt of approval from the state
Department of Transportation to said closure.
3. That the Arroyo Grande Police Department will control
traffic around the parade route and its officers will be stationed
to give instructions to motorists on detouring the parade route;
and further, the Police Department will restrict traffic on Route
227 to one lane and control traffic at the freeway ramps from 9:30
A.M. to 12:00 Noon on Saturday, September 24, 1994.
On motion of Council Member Burke , seconded by
council Member Souza , and on the following roll call
vote, to wit:
AYES:Council Members Burke, Souza, Lady and Mayor Gallagher
NOES: None
ABSENT: Council Member Brandy
the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 9th day of
August , 1994.
