RESOLUTION NO. 2983
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE RECOGNIZING
RESERVE OFFICER JOSEPH IANNEO AS THE
1993 RESERVE OFFICER OF THE YEAR
I
WHEREAS, the Arroyo Grande Police Department annually selects a member I
of Its force to be recognized as the Reserve Officer of the Year; and I
WHEREAS, no higher honor can be received than the honor of one's peers within
the Police Profession for distinguished service; and
WHEREAS, the Arroyo Grande Reserve Officer of the Year Award for 1993 has
been bestowed upon Reserve - Officer Joseph larmeo, as the Reserve Officer most dis-
tinguished within the Arroyo Grande Pollee Department because of his outstanding service
to the community, his exemplary professionalism, and his service and accomplishments;
and
WHEREAS, Reserve Officer lanneo has consistently received the praise and
commendations from not only his peers, but the community at large, as well as during
his 16 years with the Department; and
WHEREAS, during the past year, Reserve Office larmeo has given much more
than is expected to the Department in filling numerous regular shifts, and is continually
working with the young people in the community with his devotion to the D.A.R.E. Pro-
gram and in that, he is currently trying to get a program started at the Arroyo Grande
High School which would be a follow-up of the D.A.R.E. Program.
NOW, THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Arroyo
Grande, in Its regular session assembled this 11th day of May, 1993, that It hereby extends
to Reserve Officer lanneo Its highest commendation for the exceptional quality of
his work and for the inspiring stature of his demeanor.
On motion of Council Member Brandy , seconded by Council Member
Burke , and on the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: council Members Brandy, Burke and Mayor Gallagher
NOES: None
ABSENT: Council Members Moots and Souza
the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 11th day of May, 1993.
