RESOLUTION NO. 2966
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE SUPPORTING
THE PROPOSED MULTI-MODAL TRANSPORTATION
CENTER AND TRAIN STATION IN THE
CITY OF GROVER BEACH
WHEREAS, a multi-modal transportation center and train station
is planned to serve the South County of San Luis Obispo to be
located in the City of Grover Beach; and
WHEREAS, the facility will provide for the extension for the
San Diegan inter-city rail from Santa Barbara to San Luis Obispo
County and would establish a transportation link from San Diego to
this County; and
WHEREAS, the facility is expected to serve rail, bus, taxi,
commuters and bicyclists, thus providing for critical
transportation services to our residents; and
WHEREAS, funding for the project has been approved through the
use of Proposition 116 funds and Transportation Capital Improvement
(TCI) funds, which have been designated as monies for rail
projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Arroyo Grande does hereby support the multi-modal
transportation center and train station proposed for the City of
Grover Beach and hereby declares the need for the facility to
provide critical transportation services to the South County.
On motion of Council Member Moots , seconded
by Council Member Souza , and on the following roll call
vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Moots, Souza, Burke, Brandy and Mayor Gallagher
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 12th day of
January, 1993.
