HONORARY PROCLAMATION RECOGNIZING
JIM DECECCO
FOR HIS VOLUNTEER EFFORTS IN MAKING
ARROYO GRANDE A BICYCLE FRIENDLY COMMUNITY
WHEREAS, Jim Dececco is a leader by example regarding energy conservation and bicycle
advocacy; and
WHEREAS, Jim has won various awards and honors for his teaching achievements and voluntary
efforts regarding environmental awareness and conservation; and
WHEREAS, Jim has organized the annual "Bikefest" event in the Village of Arroyo Grande in honor
of "Bike Month" for the last six years; and
WHEREAS, Jim prepared and submitted an application to the League of American Bicyclists on
behalf of the City of Arroyo Grande for a Bicycle Friendly Community award; and
WHEREAS, in November 2014, the City of Arroyo Grande was named a Bronze Bicycle Friendly
Community by the League of American Bicyclists.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Jim Hill, Mayor of the City of Arroyo Grande, on behalf
of the City Council, do hereby recognize Jim Dececco for all of his volunteer efforts to make Arroyo
Grande a bicycle friendly community, and for his tireless dedication to environmental awareness.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal
of the City of Arroyo Grande_ to be affixed this 13th day of January, 2015.
