A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO
GRANDE UPHOLDING THE PLANNING COMMISSION'S DENIAL OF
VIEWSHED REVIEW CASE NO. 92-37, APPLIED FOR BY HUE C. DIEP,
FOR A SECOND STORY ADDITION TO A SINGLE FAMILY
RESIDENCE, LOCATED AT 116 BELL STREET
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Arroyo Grande held a duly noticed
public hearing on the project on September 1, 1992; and
WHEREAS, after due study, deliberation and public hearing, the Planning Commission
denied the application for the Viewshed Review Case No. 92-37; and
WHEREAS, an appeal of the Planning Commission's decision was filed on September
18, 1992 by the applicant; and
WHEREAS, the Arroyo Grande City Council held a duly noticed public,hearing On the
aforementioned appeal on October 13, 1992, at which time all interested persons were given the
opportunity to be heard; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds, after due study, deliberation and public hearing, the
following circumstances exist:
1. The proposed structure is not consistent with the established scale and character of the
neighborhood. The existing neighborhood consists of single story homes and the
applicant is proposing a two story house.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT.RESOLVED that based on the above information, the
City Council of the City of Arroyo grande hereby denies the appeal of Viewshed Review Case
No. 92-37.
On motion of Council Member Smith, seconded by Council Member Dougall, and by the
following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Smith, Dougall, Gallagher and Mayor Millis
NOES: None
ABSENT: Council Member Moots
