RESOLUTION NO. 2907
A RESOLUTION OP THE CITY COUNCIL OP
ARROYO GRANDE AUTHORIZING AN APPLICATION
TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OP WATER RESOURCES
POR GRANT PUNDS UNDER THE URBAN STREAM RESTORATION
PROGRAM TO CONSTRUCf A PROJECf ENTITLED ARROYO GRANDE CREEK
STABILIZATION PROmCf: AND APPROVING THE PILING OF A NOTICE OP
EXEMPTION PROM CEQA (CLASS 1)
WHEREAS, the City of Arroyo Grande in response 10 the solicitation from the Department of Water
Resources desires 10 submit an application for funds 10 complete the Arroyo Grande Stabilization Project
including resto...tion of culvert discharges at four locations in Anoyo Grande Creek; and
WHEREAS, the City of Arroyo Grande has prepared an application for funding under the proe...m;
and
WHEREAS, the project deadline for mailing of the application is January 31st 1992; and
WHEREAS, the project has gene...1 community support including co-sponsorship by the Kiwanis Club
of Arroyo Grande Valley; and
WHEREAS, completion of the project is consistent with the City's General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the State of Califomia Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines Section 15301, (d)
exempta projecta which are completed 10 reslore existing facilities 10 a state of good repair under currently
acceptable desien euidelines;
NOW THEREPORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande
approves and authorizes submittal of the application entitled City of Arroyo Grande Creek Stabilization Project;
and
BE IT PURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande finds the project
entitled Arroyo Grande Creek Stabilization Project 10 be a Class 1 categorical exemption from CEQA review'
according to State CEQA Guidelines Section 15301 (d), and therefore no environment documenta are required:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that it is the intent of the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande
10 complete the project as the logical extension to ita recent project 10 stabilize the creek in the vicinity of the
Swinging Bridge, and 10 provide necessary funding support for the estimated amount of $8,500 bringing the
total project cost estimate 10 be $39,5oo(including estimate of $1,000 as the value of labor provided by the
Kiwanis Club of Arroyo Grande Valley, and $30,ooofrom grant funds) so that the project can be completed in
a period of time not to exceed twelve (12) months.
On the motion of Council Member Dougall . seconded by Council Member ~ts
and on the following roll call vote, 10 wit:
