ORDINANCE NO. 440 C.S.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF 'rilE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE AMENDING.
TITLE 4, CHAPTER 2 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE
AND ADOPTING THE 1988 EDITION OF THE
UNIFORM FIRE CODE, APPENDIX AND
UNIFORM FIRE CODE STANDARDS
WHEREAS, the Uniform Fire Code, Appendix and Uniform Fire Code
Standards prescribe regulations governing conditions hazardous to
life and property from fire or explosion, and provide for the
issuance of permits for hazardous uses or operations; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande is
desirous of updating the code, appendix and standards written by
the Western Fire Chiefs Association and the International
Conference of Building Officials.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE
DOES HEREBY ORDAIN:
SECTION 1. That Sections 4-2.01 through 4-2.10 are hereby
repealed in their entirety, and Sections 4-2.01 is added to read in
its entirety as follows:
"CHAPTER 2. UNIFORM FIRE CODE, APPENDIX
AND UNIFORM FIRE CODE STANDARDS
Sec. 4-2.01. Adoption of the 1988 Uniform Fire Code. ADPendix and
uniform Fire Code Standards
There is hereby adopted by the City, for the purpose of
prescribing regulations governing conditions hazardous to life and
property from fire or explosion, those certain documents known as
the Uniform Fire Code, Appendix and Uniform Fire Code Standards,
recommended by the Western Fire Chiefs Association and the
International',Conference of Building Officials, being particularly
the 1988 Editions thereof and the whole thereof, of which Code,
Appendix and Standards have been and are now on file in the office
of the city Clerk, and such Code, Appendix and Standards are hereby
adopted and incorporated in this chapter as fully as if set out at
length in this chapter, and the provisions thereof shall be
controlling within the City."
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective 30 days
after the date of its adoption, and within fifteen (15) days after
its adoption, it shall be published once, together with the names
of the Council Members voting thereon, in a newspaper of general
circulation within the City.
On motion of Council Member Smith , seconded by
Council Member Dougall , and on the following roll call
vote, to wit:
