RESOLUTION NO. 3395
.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARROYO GRANDE MODIFYING THE EFFECTIVE
. DATE OF RATES FOR REFUSE, GREENWASTE, AND
CURBSIDE RECYCLING COLLECTION SERVICES
WHEREAS, the City of Arroyo Grande' may determine rates and charges for refuse,
greenwaste, and curbside recycling collection services pursuant to Public Resources
Code Section 40059(a) and Arroyo Grande Municipal Code Section 6-4.19; and
WHEREAS, .on August 24, 1999, at the close of a public hearing, the City Council
approved an-. Agreement with South County Sanitary Service Inc. and adopted
Resolution No. 3390 establishing rates for refuse, greenwaste, and curbside recycling
collection services, effective December 1, 1999; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to the Council's action the City's current recycling contractor,
RALCCO, made unreasonable demands upon the City for continuing curbside recycling
services during the transition period of August 25, 1999 through November 30, 1999;
and
WHEREAS, through the extraordinary efforts of South County Sanitary Service, Inc.,
service under the new contract with South County Sanitary Service, Inc. will begin
effective October 1, 1999.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Arroyo
Grande does hereby change the effective date for refuse, greenwaste, and curbside
recycling collection rates from December 1, 1999 as established in Resolution No. 3390
to October 1, 1999 as set forth in Exhibit uN', attached hereto and incorporated herein
by. this reference.
On motion of Council Member Tolley, seconded by Council Member Runels, and. on the
following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Tolley, Runels, Dickens, Ferrara, and Mayor Lady
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
The foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 14th day of September, 1999.
