WHEREIIS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande has considered
an application for installation of a 50 foot flag pole at 1590 West Branch
street in the Plarmed Developnent District; and
WHEREIIS, the City CoImc:il has found that this project is consistent with
the General plan and environmental dOCllllents associated therewith: and
~, the City Ccnm.cil has reviewed the project in call1liance with
the California Environmental Quality Act and has determined it is categorically
exenpt per Section 15311 of the CE;2!I. Guidelines; and

WHEREIIS, the City Council finds, after due study, deliberation and
public hearing, the following circunstances exist:
1. The proposed use is consistent with the General Plan
2. The site is adequate in size and shape for the proposed use.
3. The site for the proposed use has adequate access.
4, The proposed use will not have an adverse effect on the adjacent
property.
5, The design and layout of the proposed use is suitable. I
The project will not have an environment irrpact. I

Whereas, this project W!\S reviewed by the Plarming Cc:mnission and
various City departments and found to be acceptable and in conformance with the
applicable codes and ordinances.
NCW, '~, BE IT RESOLvm that the city Council of the city of I
Arroyo Grande hereby approves said Conditional Use Permit, subject to the I
following conditions:
General Conditions \
1. The applicant shall ascertain and Call1ly with all State, County, I
and city requirements as are applicable to this project. \
2. Developnent shall occur in substantial conformance with the plans
presented to the city Council at the meeting of April 24, 1990, and I
marked "Exhibit A".
Planning Department Conditions
3. Developnent shall conform with the provisions of Ordinance 140
C.S" unless otherwise approved.
4. Flag size shall not exceed 10 feet by 15 feet and no more than two
( flags shall be flown at anyone time.
5. Only the flag of the United states of America and the state of
California may be flown. No flags bearing any carmercial message,
advertising or logo shall be flown at any time.
