A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO
GRANDE ORDElUNG PLACED ON THE BALLO'l' OF THE N2X'l' CITY
ELECTION A MEASURE TO PROHIBIT PARTICIPATION IN T1!E
CALIFORNIA STATE WATER PROJECT BY 'rHE CITY OF AQROYO
GRANDE WITHOUT l\N AFFIRMATIVE Voo.'E OF THE VO'l'ERS

NOW THEREFORE, The City Council of the City of Arroyo
Grande, California, does hereby resolve, declare, determine
and order as follows:.
l. The issue of whether to participate in the
California State Water project is a complex issue in
which the citizens of Arroyo Grande are greatly
interested. -. -
2. Therefore, the City Council finds that it is in the
best interest of the people of the City to allow the
voters to participate in such decision.
3. Based on the above findings, a measure requiring
an affirmative vote of the voters of Arroyo Grande
before the City is authorized to participate in the
State War.er Project, is hereby ordered placed on the
ballot of the next election called by the City Council
of the City of Arroyo Grande to read as follows:

7. The City Council hereby directs the City Attorney
to prepare an impartial analysis of the measure, not to
exceed 500 words in length, showing the effect of the
measure on existing law and operation of the measure.
On Motion of Council Member Douqall . seconded by
Council Member Moots , and on the following roll
call vote, to wit:

Full Text of Measure "A"
The People of the City of Arroyo Grande do hereby ordain as
follows:
Section 1. The City of Arroyo Grande shall not participate,
in any way, including but not limited to, the expenditure or
conunitment of any funds, in the California State Water
Project without an affirmative vote of a majority of the
voters voting upon such a measure.
Section 2. This ordinance shall not be amended nor repealed
without a vote of the voters of Arroyo Grande.
