RESOLUTION NO. 2374
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
I CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE RECOGNIZING
DETECTIVE JOHN TOOLEY AS THE
1990 OFFICER OF THE YEAR
WHEREAS, the Arroyo Grande Police Department annually selects
a member of its force to be recognized as the Police Officer of the
Year; and
WHEREAS , no higher honor can be received than the honor of
one's peers within the Police Profession for distinguished service;
and
WHEREAS, the Arroyo Grande Police Officer of the Year Award
for 1990 has been bestowed upon Detective John Tooley, as the ,
Officer most distinguished within the Arroyo Grande Police -'
i Department because of his outstanding service to the community, his
exemplary professionalism, and his service and accomplishments; and
WHEREAS, Detective Tooley has consistently received the praise
and commendations from not only his peers, but the community at
large as well during his 22 years with the Department; and
WHEREAS, Detective Tooley has continually involved himself in
youth activities within the community, such as Little League and
Youth Soccer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Arroyo Grande, in its regular session assembled this 27th day
of February, 1990, that it hereby extends to Detective Tooley its
highest commendation for the exceptional quality of his work and
for the inspiring stature of his demeanor.
On motion of Council Member Smith , seconded by Council
Member Moots , and on the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Mayor Millis and Council Members Smith, Moots, Dougall and Olsen

I the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 27th day of
