A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE
DE$IGNATING A LANDMARK GROVE 89 -50
WHEREAS, Sec.10-3.06 of the Municipal Code of the City of Arroyo
Grande provides for the preservation and protection of certain trees in
order to produce a more desirable, pleasing and beautiful community and
to maintain and enhance community historic, cultural and property
value~, a~ well a~ to promote the public health, ~afety, comfort, and
welfare; and
WHEREAS, this ~rove of trees on lot number 10 of the Le Pointe
Addition, in the Ci y of Arroyo Grande, and as located and identified on
the map attached to this resolutionA has been examined by the Parks and
Recreation Director of the City of rroyo Grande and has been found to
be a Coast Live Oak Grove; and
WHEREAS, this grove, due to Its age, ~~.cies, configuration, and
historical value meets criteria for Landmar Grove designation as
determined by the Parks and Recreation Director and Planning Commission;
and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission of the City of Arroyo
Grande recommends to the City Council that this Grove should be
preserved and protected and designated as a Landmark Grove.
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande hereby
desiQnates this grove as a Landmark Grove and directs that it shall be
monumented as Landmark Grove Number 89-50; and
FURTHERMORE, this grove ~hall be protected, preserved and
maintained by the grove owner and subsequent grove owners and such grove
shall not be removed or destro~edbY any farty unle.ss otherwise
authorized by Sec.l0-3.06 of t e Municlpa Code of the City of Arroyo
Grande.
