A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY MAY 161989
OF ARROYO GRANDE ORDERING THE ABANDONMENT OF
A SECTION OF CORNWALL AVENUE (STREETS AND FRANCIS M. COONEY
HIGHWAYS CODE SECTION 8323, ET SEQ.) County C1erk-Reoorder
TIME 4:00PM
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande has
elected to proceed under provisions of Streets and Highways Code
Section 8321, et seq., and in accordance with the provisions
thereof, by Resolution, the Arroyo Grande city Council set the time
and place for Public Hearing for the vacation of said City street
at 8:00 P.M., May 9, 1989, in the Arroyo Grande city council
Chambers; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has found, on the basis of evidence
produced at the Public Hearing, that a portion of Cornwall Avenue,
hereinafter described, is unnecessary for present or future public
street purposes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the hereinafter described
portion of Cornwall Avenue be abandoned and it is so ordered,
reserving therefrom an easement over the abandoned portion for
utilities and/or sewer purposes.
All that portion of Cornwall Avenue of the
Western Addition to the Town of Arroyo Grande,
in the City of Arroyo Grande , County of San
Luis Obispo, State of California, according to
the map recorded in Book B, Page 10 of Maps in
the office of the county Recorder of said
County, described as follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the
easterly line of North Halcyon Road and the
southerly line of Cornwall Avenue, said point
being also the northwest corner of Block 1 of
said Western Addition to the Town of Arroyo
Grande; thence easterly along the southerly
line of Cornwall Avenue to its point of
intersection with the westerly line of North
Rena street;' thence northerly along the
westerly line of North Rena Street to its
intersection with the northerly line of
Cornwall Avenue; thence westerly along the
northerly line of Cornwall Avenue to its point
of intersection with the easterly line of
North Halcyon Road; thence southerly along the
easterly line of North Halcyon Road to the
true point of beginning.
Including those portions of lot 1, Block 10 of
said Western Addition to the Town of Arroyo
Grande described in the deed to City of Arroyo
Grande by the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph
Company, a California Corporation recorded in
Volume 1366 Page 105 of Official Records in
the office of the county Recorder, San Luis
Obispo County, California.
Excepting there from that portion of Cornwall
Avenue . lying westerly of the easterly plan
line of. north Halcyon Road as shown on map
filed in Book 13, Page 91 of Licensed Surveys
in the Office of the county Recorder, San Luis
Obispo County, California.

RESERVING, HOWEVER, subject to the above grant, a blanket
easement in the above describe property for the construction,
maintenance, repair and replacement of water and sewer mains,
underground communication facilities, drainage and drainage
structures, and other utilities~
Further particulars as to the proposed vacation and
abandonment are shown on the map pertaining thereto on file in the
Office of the City Clerk of the City of Arroyo Grande, California,
a copy of which is attached hereto and labeled Exhibit "A"~

Council member &nith , and on the following roll call vote,
to wit:
AYES: Council Members Moots, Smith, Dougall, Olsen and Mayor Millis
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 9 th day
of May, 1989.
