RESOLUTION NO. 2326
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE
CONGRATULATING THE CITY OF MORRO BAY
ON THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF ITS INCORPORATION
WHEREAS, the City of Morro Bay was incorporated on July 17,
1964; and
WHEREAS, Morro Bay will be celebrating its 25th Anniversary
of Incorporation this month of July, 1989; and
WHEREAS, Morro Bay City Council Members, concerned citizens
and community organizations jointly planned 17 events beginning on
July 1, 1989, to celebrate this Anniversary: and
WHEREAS, a Silver Anniversary Dinner will be held on Monday,
July 17, 1989, at the Morro Bay community Center to commemorate the
25 years of incorporation; and
WHEREAS, Morro Bay Mayor Rose Marie Sheetz believes that all
Central Coast Citizens should be reminded of the history of Morro
Bay and join in its 25th Anniversary celebration; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Sheetz has proclaimed July 1 through July 17,
1989, as Morro Bay's Anniversary Celebration of Incorporation: and
WHEREAS, all residents of the City of Arroyo Grande wish to
share in the praising of the City of Morro Bay's Silver
Anniversary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Arroyo Grande City
Council, on behalf of all the Citizens of Arroyo Grande, hereby
recognizes and acknowledges the achievements and values of the City
of Morro Bay and congratulates it on its 25th Silver Anniversary.
On motion of Council Member Olsen, seconded by Council Member
Moots, and on the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Olsen, Moots, Dougall, Smith and Mayor
Millis
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted on this 11th day
of July, 1989.
