Minutes 1939-08-02 174 ~ ~ Arroyo Grande~ ~alifornia ~ August 1.939 City Council met in regular session with ~~ayor J. S. Gibson in the chair. Upon roll call, Councilmen Conrad, Phillips, Schnyder and ~Ihitlock reported present. Ai~sent none. Tulinutes of previous meeting read and approved as r ead. Communications read and placed on file. A number of water consumers of the City ~~ater system, appeared and presented a petition with approximately 150 signatures requesting an increase in the minimum amount of water allowed. After a lengthy discussion~ it was agreed that the Board take the matter under advisement. Motion regularly seconded and carried that the Gouncil go ~ on record as favoring an increase ~ from 750 cu ft. to 850 cu ft minimum for the regular rate of $2.00, sa~d inerease to be effective ~anuary 1, 1940 by an amendment to our present C~rdinance. Application for Street light by L. E. Baldwin and ~~rs. ~ay . ~urley rejeeted. Not sufficiently populated. ` ' E. Y. Edmands and Harry Hart granted 2 weeks vacation with pay.
