Minutes 1945-05-16 ~04 ~ Arrayo Grande,California. ~ May 16 ~ 1945 ~ ~ The City ~auncil met in regular sessian and was called to order by the Clerk. f Upon roll eall Councilmen Pfiillips Schnyder~~~enny and Lierly reported present.Absent Mayor ~ibson. A motion made by ~ouncilman Schnyder~seeonded by Couneil- man ~enny to have Councilman t'hillips act as Mayor. 'I''he minutes of the prev?ious mee'~in~ vuere read and appraved as read. ~ CommuniIIations were read and placed on file. ~ ' The building being built by Iulr Robison ~ras diseuss~c~ and Mr Robison appeared before the Board and after a ldng i3iscuss- ion Mr Ro~ison agreed to change the ceiling height~~tto confoz~e with the l~w and make them eight feet in the elear and also agreed to change the valuation to ~ 1500~ the Council then , agreed to grant the permit. J.O.l~ineau Applied for ~~:~permi~ Por an addition to his house For $ 144.00 and th~ Council agreed to grant the permit. Mr Harris reported that a Mr Nowes had said he would come down some V'~ednesday afternoon and go over the City Park with some members of the Cauneil to make suggestions for landscaping the park. The Clerk reported that quite a few people from ou~ Grand t~ve; had asked to have water service but the Council said nothing could be done about it on account of the shortage of pipe~m~ters and at the present time they could no~ spare the water. R~OLUTI~N 128 ~ Resolu~tior~ adopting bmdget and approving memorandum a~' agreement for e~enditures of 4 cent gas tax allocated for State Hi~hways. ~ Passed and adopted by the following vote on ro11 call. NG!~ : Nane Absent: ~tayor Gibson Mr Ewing reported that there would have to be a new pwnp and motor at the wells as the one which hed been in use was not furnishing enough water. The matter was discussed and t'ou~ci].rnan Schnyder made a motion to have ?~~~ter Sup~ Ewing a~~C~=~f'~~ ~bids for a 30 hors epower motor =pu~p.~ etc , the moti on was seeonded by Councilman Lierly and'the motion carried.
