Absent r'ouncilman Rountree. The minutes of the ;?revious meeting ~ere re~d and anproved as read. Cor.zmunicat;ons were read ~nd placed on file. ` It~ayor ~hillips ur~ed ~.1Z Councilmen members to attend the meeting- to be held ~.t the High School ~anuary 2~ for discussion on a bond issue to raise money for a new school. P~?r Ben Conr~d said he would like to meet with the Council to discuss plans ior the sewer and i_t was decided to meet on R~onday January 26 ~ 1Q48 ~t 6. 30 P.1tR. rJ?r Ewing asked about a grade on Rena Street and ~Zr Conrad suggest- ed they ~o ahe~d and gr~de and gravel as it wa:s now as it would need to be raised if and ~vhen Cornwall was put to ~ g-rade. ~'he sewer Iine ~.t the fill on Br~nch Street was discussed and it ~vas agreed to get the t~~.~.Lyles ~o; to do wha~ever was necessary. I!~r C.E.Loomis was pres~nt to ask f'or damages in beh~lf of Mrs. E.C.Loomis for the dama~e.~where the sevaer overflowed in her house. r~r.Harris the City ~.ttorney told r.~r Loomis to have Z~~rs.E.C.Loomis file a claim and he ~s~ould check on the City's liability. r~r Loomis s~id at the timP the `~ity took out their insurance it was thought the i ate wo~,_ld be too hi~h on property dama~;e that ~vould cover the type of dama~e done by the sewer ~.nd there was very little likelihood of any d~mage. R±Ir Harris ~greed to check ~vith San Luis Obispo and see wYiat the ~ity carried up there. I~~r Ewing brou~Yit up the matter of septic tanks and cesspools bein~ put in close to the City wells and he was ~sked to c~ll the iLeal~h Dept. in Sa~ Luis Obispo and ~sk them to look into the matter.
