RESOLUTION NO. 2278
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE AMENDING
RESOLUTIONS NOS. 2157 AND 2239
REGARDING ELECTION CANDIDATE
PRINTING AND ADMINISTRATIVE FEES
WHEREAS, the City Council of the city of Arroyo Grande wishes
to encourage citizens to participate in the election process to the
fullest measure, including running for the offices of Mayor, City
Council, City Clerk or City Treasurer; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to remove any financial or
other obstacles that might prevent citizens from runninq for office
in the City; and
NOW, THEREPORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Resolutions Nos. 2157 and
2239, which required candidates to pay printing and administrative
fees upon the filing of their nomination papers for City offices,
are hereby repealed as follows:
1. Resolution No. 2157 Fee Schedule - Delete Election
Candidate Printing Pee of $25.00 and Election Candidate
Administrative Pee of $50.00.
2. Resolution No. 2239 SECTION 3. FEES. - Delete sentence
sayinq City Clerk shall collect a printinq Fee of $25.00 and an
Administrative Pee of $50.00 upon the filinq of nominatinq papers.
On motion of Council Member Dougall, seconded by Council
Member Smith, and on the followinq roll call vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Dougall, Smith, Olsen and Mayor Millis
NOES: Council Member Moots
ABSENT: None
the foreqoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 27th day of
December, 1988.
