R 2269 12 RESOLUTION NO. 2269 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR $41,000.00 IN GRANT FUNDS UNDER THE CALIFORNIA WILDLIFE, COASTAL AND PARK LAND CONSERVATION ACT OF 1988 WHEREAS, the City of Arroyo Grande desires to apply for grant funds for the Per Capita Grant Program under the California Wildlife, Coastal, and Park Land Conservation Act of 1988 for the following projects: .1. Playground rehabilitation at Strother, Terra De Oro and Elm street Parks for $20,500.00, and 2. Tennis court lighting and basketball court construction at the Soto Sports Complex for $20,500.00; and WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted J the California Wildlife, Coastal, and Park Land Conservation Act of 1988, which provides funds to the state of California and its political subdivisions for acquiring and/or developing facilities -'-'- for public recreational and open space purposes; and WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the program within the state, setting up necessary procedures governing application by local agencies under the program; and WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department of Parks and Recreation require the applicant to certify by resolution the approval of application(s) before submission of said application(s) to the state; and WHEREAS, said app'l.ications(s) contain assurances that the applicant must comply with; and WHEREAS, the applicant will enter into an agreement with the State of California for a<;:quisition or development of the project(s). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the city Council of the City of Arroyo Grande hereby: 1. Approves the filing of an application for the Per Capita Grant Program under the california wildlife, Coastal, and Park Land conservation Act of 1988 state grant assistance for the above project(s); and 2. Certifies that said applicant understands the assurances and certification in the application form; and 3. certifies that said applicant has or will have sufficient funds to operate and maintain the project(s); and 4. Appoints the Director of Parks and Recreation as agent of the ci ty of Arroyo Grande to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents including, but not limited to, applications, J agreements, amendments, payment requests and so on, which may be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned project(s).
