Minutes 1954-06-01 a ~ ~ ,a Arroyo Grande, ~alifornia June 1, 195~t The City L'ouncil r~t in regular session with Mayor Burt presiding. Upon roll call Councilmen Kerr, Pence and Brennan reported present. Absent Council- ma.n Simpson. The minutes of the previous regular meeting were read and gpproved as read. The minutes of the May 26th meeting of the City Planning Commission Were read and discussed. A letter from J. A, Beckett stating he was willing to clear the City of the restriction that the property must be used for park purposes was read and ordered filed. RFSOLUTION #307 A RESOLUTION UF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANROYO GRANDE ' AUTHOHIZING `I'HE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT AND QUIT CLAIM ON THE WOMEN'S CLUB PROPERTY WHICH WAS BEING TAKEN BY THE ~IVISION OF HIGHWAYS. Upon motion cf Councilman Kerr, seconded by Councilman Brennan and by the following roll call vote to wit: .~YES: Councilmen Burt, Kerr, Pence and Brennan NOF.S: None ~EiSENT; Councilman Simpson the foregoing resolution was adopted. ~ ~ RESpLUTION #308 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE AUTHORIZING THE MA,YOR TO EXECUTE THE GRANT DEED ON PORl'IONS OF THE CITY PARK PROPERTY TO THE DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS FOR ROAD PURPOSFS. Upon motion of Councilma.n Brennan, seconded by Co~cilman Kerr and by the following roll call vote to-wit: AYES: Councilmen Burt, Kerr, Pence and Brennan NOES: None At35ENm: Councilman Simpson ~ ~ the foregoing resolution was adopted. ~ ' Councilman l~rennan gave a report on some of the work being done on the streets and also reported Ntr. Anderson and a mechanic had gone to Oxnard to look at a used sweeper. They reported it was in very good shape with the exception of several , sprockets and could be bought for $1000.00 on payments of ~100.00 ~town and ~6100.00 per month. Mr. Anderson was asked to call them and see if they would put in the parts and deliver it for that price and when he got their reply the Council should meet and d~ecide on the purchase. . 312 ~ ~ ~ RFSOI,UTION #3~9 -,A RESOI.UTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO G~ANDE DIFtECTING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO MOVE ONTO THE CITY PROPERTY ON ELM STREET IN LINE WITH'HIS POLICE DUTY. On motion of Councilman Brennan and seconded by Councilman Kerr'axid by the following roll. call vote to-wit: AYES: Councilmen Burt, Kerr, Fence and Brennan NOFS : None ~ ABSENT: Councilman Simpson ~ ~ the foregoing resolution was adopted. Chief of Pol,ice Mize said he would turn in the list of time and ma~erial for repairing the house at the well. The Council agreed to credit him ~1.~0 p~r ; hour for labor on repairing and p,ainting. The Chief asked about putting in for a new police car so they cauld get delivery before the Ford no~r being used Kould have to have an overhaul. Council- man Brennan reported he thou~~t the new model would be out before too long and it was decided to make minor repairs and wait for the new models. Bills against the General Fund for ~3511.18, the Water Fund for $I211.39, and the Water Deposit Fund for ~28.00 were audited, approved and ordered paid. It was ~oned and seconded that vouchers #50-51-52-53 and 5!~ be authoriz~~d for transfer. No further business appearing the meeting ad~ourned. ~ ATTE5T: _ ity lerk yor 2:00 P.M. Mr. Anderson reported the Conveyor Co. would furnish parts and deliver the sweeper to Arroyo Grande for $1000.00 as agreed and a motion was made by'Councilman Brennan, seconded by Councilman Kerr authorizing Mr. Anderson to purchase the sweeper for ~1000.00 plus sales tax, at ~100.00 down and ~P100.00 per month.
