Minutes 1954-09-21 i Arroyo Grande, California September 21~ 195~t - The City Council met in regular session with Ma.yor Burt presiding. Upon roll call ~ouncilmen Kerr, Pence and Simpson reported present. .Councilman Brennan arrived later. The minutes of the previous regular and special meetings were read and approved as read. Councilman Simpson reported he had contacted I~~. Cecil Evans in regard to acquiring the portion of the P. C. r/w lying between Allen Street and E. Cherry l~ve. and a quit-claim on the property could be obtained from 1"tr. Elton `l'ognazzini for ~100.00. RESOLU~1'IOIJ ~319 ~ Resolution of the City Council of the City of Arroyo Grande authorizing the acquisition of the P. C. right-of-way lying between Allen St. and E. Cherry Ave., and authorizing the Clerk to draw a warrant for $100.00 to be put in escrow for the purchase. On motion of Councilman Simpson, seconded by Councilman Kerr and by the following , roll call vote to-wit: . AYES: Councilmen Burt, Kerr, Pence, Si~son and Brennan tJOES : none ABSENT: None ~ the foregoing resolution was adopted. ~ . ; HESOLUTION #320 ~ A Resolution of the City Council of the ~ity of Arroyo Grande ~ to set the city license fee for public dances at ~1.50 per dance or $12.50 per quarter. Be it resolved that the City License Fee for public dances will be ~61.50 per dance, or ~12.50 per quarter until further notice. Qn motion of Councilman Pence, seconded by Councilman Brennan and by the following r roll call vote to-wit: AYES: Councilmen Burt, Kerr, Pence, Simpson and Brennan NOES: None AF3SENT : None the foregoing resolution was adopted. A request from property owners on Wood Place for a street marker and a ~'Not a 7.'hrough Street" sign to be erected on the street, was read and Mr. Don Cook asked for street signs on `i'ally-Ho Road. The ~ouncil discussed having street signs all over town, and it was suggested that the cost of signs be figured and ready for the next council meeting. . 4 . . . . . . , . . . . . . . . . . . ~ ~3a ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Mr. Victor Daley, County Poundmaster, was present ~bo discuss the suggested Dog Ordinance_prepared by the county and to answer questions. He said he-~roulc~ get copies of the Kern Co. Qrdinance and costs on enforcing the ordinance in Kern Co. and the information available on the expense of the Dept. in San L~is Obispo. This would be ready for the next council meeting. - Councilman Simpson asked wha.t progress was being made by the committee appointed to study the ~rater system costs; he was told they ~rer.e to meet the follow'~.t~g`we+ek and it was hoped they would have something to report at the second meeting-~.n Qetober. Bills against the General Fund for ~1827.78, and the Water Fund for ~999-.71 were audited, approved and ordered paid.
