The City Council met in regular sessian with Mayor Burt
presid.ing. Present were Councilmen Lee, Pence, Jacobs and.
Hartwig.
The minutes of theJregular meeting of January 9th, 1962
were approved. as prepared.,
Correspond.ence was received.from the Division of Highways
regarding road.sid.e facilities for embarking and. d.isembarking
passengers from~rotor coaches at road.sid.e locations. No action
was t~ken at this time.
John Robertson requested.that a portion of the City owned.
~property on Elm Street be used.for a Little League Ball Park,
and. presented. a sketch of the proposed park and. the area to be
used.. Mr. Robertson was ad.vised. the area would. have to be on a
lease basis and. the corporation would. be required.to obtain
insurance. The Council. and.members of the Little League Corp-
oration were to meet at the site to d.etermine what could. be
worked. out to everyo~~s s~.tisfaction.
The head.ing of th.e Ord.inance to establish set-backs was
read. for the second. read.ing.
A motion was mad.e by Councilman Lee, second,ed.by Councilman
Hartwig, to dispense with read.ing the balance of the Ord.inance.

THE ESTABLISHMENT OF "SET-BAGIC't OR 'tPLAN LINE'f LINES,
AND PRESCRIBING THE PROCEDURE FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF
SUCH LINES, AND DEFINING THE EFFECT OF THE ESTABLISHMENT
OF ANY SUCH:LINES, AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE
VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE OR OF ANY SUCH T1SET-BACK'r
OR 1TPLAN LINE" LINES THUS ESTABLISHED.

A motion was mad.e by Councilman Lee, second.ed. by Gauncilman
Hartwig to increase the payment per month to Woad.Animal Shelter
from $90.00 to $15Q.00, effective February, 1962. All members
present voted. 'tAye't.
Councilman Pence sugges'ted a replacement sched.ule for eity:
equipment be prepared..
A motion was mad.e by Councilman Jacobs, second.ed by Council-
man Lee, that the bid. of Maury Brennan for two pickups be
, accepted., one pickup to cost $1,744.95 with the 1949 Chevrolet
Pickup as a trad.~ in, and. the other pickup 'to cost $1,784.95
with the 1950 Ford.Pickup as a trad.e in, one pickup to.have a
heater installed.. A11 members present voted.'~Aye't.
The purchase of a load.er from Hansen Equipment Company
was d.iscussed., and. it was agreed. to make no purchase until
the eompany had. submitted. a letter stating the specifications
of the equipment, the accessories and the costs.

man Lee, that the purchase of a radi~~ ta cost $400.00 installed.,

d.iscussed., but was held. over until the property owners were
contacted. to d.etermine what was to be d.one with the property.
Councilmatt Pence and. Mr. And.erson were to meet with Dr.
Piety and. d.iscuss the water rat~s for the Elementary School,
and. have a recommend.ation for the Council at the next regular
meeting.

man Pence, that the city call for bid.s'to sell the ob'solete
equipment as listed. and. presented. by Mr. And.erson. A11 members

The meeting on February 21st, 1962, with the County PLanning
Commission was d.iscussed., and. approved..

man Hartwig, that a letter be written to the High School
authorities, for the Crown Hill Terrace Campus,.~hat it is the
Council's intention that approximately 900 feet of 10 inch water
main be installed. between the existing four inch main on Branch
Street to the existing 8 inch main on Huasna Road., as d.escribed.

Mr.-I~arris was to write to D. Stewart Ke~rr, Architect for
School No. 3 Arroyo Grand.e Union Elementary School District,
and. outline the requirements and. regulations ~or the installation
of a sewer main to the School site on Brisco Hill.
Mr.-Harris was to contact the League of California Cities
to arrive at a. recommend.ation to the Council., re~ard.ing the
port.ion of Traffic Way, Don Christianson requested. the City
aband.on and.the portion of the 101 Frontage Road. in Western
Ad.d.ition, Martin Polin requested. the City aband.on.
App~oval was given for a meeting of Councilman Lee, Mr. Harris,
Les Hacker, Lew Jones and. Chief Richard.son, to t~e held. to make
final arrangements for the moving of the City Rad.io equipment
to the Rad.io Station, and. application to the Fed.eral Cammunications
Commission for approval for the change to be mad.e.
Councilman Jacobs d.iscussed.the possibility of the County
of San Luis Obispo assessing and. collecting the taxes for the
City, and.the ad.vantages to the City and.taxpayers of having this
change mad.e .
The Ord.inance was read.for the first time for transferring
the assessment and. tax collection d.uties and. the collection of
assessments levied.far municipal purpases to the assessor and.
- tax collector of the County of ~an Luis Obispo.

OF SAN LUIS OBISPO AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS
