The City Council met in an adjourned. sess~Qn with Mayor Burt
presid.ing. Present were Councilmen Jacobs, Lee and.MeNeil. Absent
was Councilman Wood..
Mr. Walter P, Hollmann from the State Department of Finance
explained. to the Council d.ifferent method.s to establish population
increases, the approximate costs, and. the ad.vantages of the various
, method.s . It was agreed. at this time to c~btain further information
before a d.ecision was mad.e on wh~t type of census would. be to the
best ad.vantage of the City.
RESOLUTION N0. 551
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE
ELIMINATING STOP SIGNS ON GRAND AVENUE WHERE IT ENTERS
HALCYON AVENUE,
On motion of Councilman Jacobs, second.ed. by Councilman McNeil,
and by the following roll call vote, to-wit:
AYES: Councilmen Burt, Lee, Jacc~bs, McNeil
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilman Wood.
the foregoing Resolution was adopted this 18th d,ay of September,l962.
A motion was mad.e by Councilman McNeil, seconded by Councilman
Lee that the bid. of $200.00 submitted by Don Christianson for the
purchase of property ad,jacent to his property and.Traffic W8y be
accepted and. the Mayor be authorized. to sign the necessary papers
for the City. All members present voted. 'tAye'T.
The bid,s received.for the installation of the E1m Street sewer
were as follows: S. Salomon -$28,133.50; Wm. H. Schallock -$32,752.00;
Frank P. Donovan -$26,121.50; W. M. Lyles -$30,880.40 and.Smees
Plumbing and. Heating -$25,848.30. The bids were taken und.er advise-
ment at this time.

Mr. Glen Pinnell respresenting the owners of Tract 161, ad.vised
the Council the impravements in the tract had. not been accepted by
the County or the City and. they d.id not wish the City to install a
sewer line und.er the streets while they would. still be rl~sponsible.
As Tract 161 had. been formed. und.er the County and. was annexed to
the City, it was agreed to ho1d. the matter over until a later meeting
to determine what could. be d.one.
