I have hade some issues come up during the plan submittal process and would like to
Find.out how to amend the city Municipal code regarding the way projects under 500Sq
ft are handled.
The County of San Luis Obispo, The City of Grover Beach and The City Of Pismo
Beach all allow for a permit to be obtained with a lesser requirement for the projects
under 500 SQ FT. in regards to Side walks and Especially Electrical under grounding
I believe the current over 100 Sq. ft. requirement is over burdening the community
and costing the city money through the cancellation of projects and has hurt a number of
people in the community.
The big developments can afford to pay for under grounding of utilities but the small
ones cant. The intent of the ordinance is to improve the community and I strongly
believe i*has the adverse effect. I personally know of projects have been canceled and
have lost the city tax revenue and have stopped people from improving their property. I
believe the problem could be fixed by treating projects under 500 Sq Ft. differently will
bring in more business and home improvements. This change to be inline with the rest of
the communities in the area will also Save money and create a better community spirit.

This letter is intended to start a dialog and help set up a meeting with the pertinent
city officials to make positive changes to the current municipal code and make the city
money through increased business and tax revenue.
