Minutes 1968-06-10 V~ { CITY COUNCIL JUNE lOTH, 1968 ARROYO GRANDE, CALIFORNIA The City Council met in adjourned regular sessian with Mayor Wood pre- siding. Upon roll call, Councilwoman Thompson, Councilmen Levine, Schlegel and Smith reported present. BUDGET STUDY SESSION City Administrator Butch and th e Council re-reviewed from Page 36 through the balance of the General Fund, Page 44, and continued discussion and review of the preliminary 1968-69 Municipal Budget to its conclusion with the following items agreed upon: 1. Bridge Maintenance was discussed and it was agreed to add $500.00 to the budget to cover the cost of engineering to determine what repairs or changes are necessary for the span on Bridge Streete 2. Disposal of street sweepings and the cost involved was discussed and Administrator Butch was requested to investigate the possi-• bility of a cut and fill opera°tion for the City, as to cost, lo- cati~n, etc. 3g Establishment of guidelines for parks was discussed and that funds budgeted were 22~ per 100 assessed valuation or approxi- mately $24,900 and that next year parks cost would be based upon city finances. 4, Administrator Butch was requested to make a survey of buildings suitable for rental for a Community Building, such as the Ameri- can Legion Building and South County Recreation Building. 5. The Water Fund was discussec~ and it was agreed to proceed with ~ the Capital Improvement items and delay the Depreciation items until next spring based on revenue if received as anticipated and projected. 6o The City Attorney was requested to investigate and report back to the Council if the billing on Lopez could be changed from Lopez Water Contract Charge to Water Contract Charge. 7, City Administrator Butch was authorized to proceed with necessary documents to permit elected City Officials to participate in the O.A.S,I. 8. It was agreed that all salaries be discussed and reviewed in early March, 1969, 9~ Mayor Wood requested Administratoz Butch leave the room while his salary was being discussed, as it is not completely covered in the salary plan, and after discussion, it was agreed the City Administrator's salary would be established at $1200 per month for Step 5 of the City's Merit Salary Plan, No further items to be discussed, the Council agreed the proposed preliminary 1968-69 Budget be presented at the next regular meeting of ~~une llth, 1968 for adoption, ADJOURNMENT On motion of Councilman Levine, seconded by Councilwoman Thompson, and unanimously carried, the meeting was adjourned at 11:00 P,M, s ~ , ATTEST: ,~,~.,~-'~-~''`~~~°~;--1.~,-L-' DEPUTY CITY CLERK MAYOR
