RESOLUTION NO, 2176
-" A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE
AMENDING THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN
TO PERMIT HEAVY COMMERCIAL/LIGHT INDUSTRIAL USES AND
TO DELETE MEDIUM HIGH DENSITY RESIDENTIAL USES
ON REAL PROPERTY CURRENTLY USED
FOR COMMERCIAL PURPOSES
(201 Brisco Road - Ray)
WHEREAS, the parcel of real property described generally as
201 Brisco Road is a transitional use parcel situated between
existing commercial and R-3 property uses; and
WHEREAS, the land uses on said parcel have included
commercial uses for a substantial portion of the time since the
parcel was annexed to the City several years ago as part of a
much larger annexation; and
WHEREAS, the Council had earlier considered abatement of the
commercial uses on the property, but had allowed the owners to
apply for general plan and zoning amendments to consider
continued commercial uses; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed an application
for a general plan and zoning amendment, but failcd L(' '-E>a.;:h a
majority vote for or against (3 - 2 for appro~alJ; and
WHEREAS, the matter is now before the Couuc~.. for finial
determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BB IT RESOLVED by the Cit~. ~.C1U.1CH .:.If ~he
City of Arroyo Grande as follows;
1. The proposed General Plan Amendment will have no significant

environmental impact, and a Negative Declaration is hereby --
approved and adopted for such amendment.

2. The Land Uae Element of the General Plan is hereby amended
to include the property at 201 Brisco Road as Heavy
Commercial/Light Industrial, which is compatible with the
current designation of property on at least two adjoining
aides.
3. This is the first General Plan Amendment in the City for the
year 1981. (GP Amendment No. 87-1)
4. The Planning Department is directed to revise the Map for
the General Plan Land Use Element to reflect the above
- amendment, and to maintain a copy of said Map on file for
public inspection.
On motion of Council Member Porter , second by Council
Member Moots, and on the following roll call vote, to wit:
AYES; Council Members Porter, Moots, Johnson, Millis and Mayor Mankins
NOBS; None
ABSENT: None
the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 10th day
