ORDINANCE NO. 415 C.S.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE AMENDING
THE MUNICIPAL CODE TITLE 5, CHAPTER 1
REGARDING CARD ROOMS
L' THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE HEREBY ORDAINS AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Chapter 1, Title 5 of the Arroyo Grande Municipal
Code is amended to read in its entirety as follows:
CHAPTER 1 CARD ROOMS
Sec. 5-1.01. Card room defined.
For the purposes of this chapter, "card room" shall mean a
business house, house, room, apartment, or place in which the
playing of cards for money, checks, chips, credit or other
representatives of value is conducted or carried on.
Sec. 5-1.02 Prohibited.
No person shall keep, conduct, or maintain a card room or
knowingly permit any building, room, or place owned by him or
under his charge or control to be used as a card room.
Sec. 5-1.03 Exceptions.

The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to the
carrying on of card games in pr ivate homes for purely social
purposes.
SECTION 2: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
thirty (30i days after its passage: and within fifteen (15) days
after its passage, it shall be pUblished once, together with the
names of the City Council Members voting thereon, in a newspaper
of general circulation within the City.
