ORDINANCE NO. 373 C.S.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ARROYO GRANDE
AMENDING MUNICIPAL CODE SECTIONS 4-7.15 AND 4-13.02
TO PROHIBIT THE USE OF
BICYCLES AND WHRRI.BD 'l'OYS ON SlDEWALKS
ALONG BRANCH STREET IN THE DOWNTOWN VILLAGE AREA
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Arroyo
Grande as follows:
Section 1: Section 4-7.15 of the Municipal Code is hereby
amended to read in full as follows:
.Sec. 4-7.15. Bicycle Ridinq Prohibited on Downtown
Sidewalks Alonq Branch Street.
It shall be unlawful and an infraction for any person to
ride a bicycle on the sidewalks along Branch Street in
any portion of the downtown village area extending from
Wesley Street on the west to the foot of Crown hill on
the east..

Section 2: Section 4-13.02.1 is hereby added to the
I Municipal Code reading in full as follows:
.Sec. 4-13.02.1. Wheeled Toys Prohibited on Downto~m
I Sidewalk. Alonq Branch Street.
i It shall be unlawful and an infraction for any person

to u.e Or operate any wheeled toy on the sidewalks along
Branch Street in any portion of the downtown village
area extendinq from Wesley Street on the west to the
foot of Crown Bill on the east.
Violation of thia aection shall be an infraction;
provided, however, that two or more violations within
I any twelve month period shall be prosecutable as a
- misdemeanor. In the event that any juvenile is cited

for a misdemeanor pursuant to the foregoing provisions,
the wheeled toy of any such juvenile so cited shall bo

impounded and thereafter returned only to tho parent or
guardian of said juvenile, or otherwise at the direction
. of the Court, Probation Officer, or Chief of Police."
Section 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
thirty (30) days after its passage, and within fifteen (15) days
after its passage, it shall be publish.a once, together with the
names of the Council Members voting thereon, in a newspaper of
general circulation within the City.
On motion of Council Member Johnson , and seconded
by Council Member Porter , and on the following roll
call vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Johnson, Porter Millis, Moots and Mayor Mankins
NOES: None --,...
ABSENT: None
the foregoing Ordinance was passed and adopted at this reading on
the 12th day of ADril , 1988.
